4 Years of Resilience. 4 Years of Solidarity.
On the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, Darwin's Ukrainian community gathered to remember, to honour, and to reaffirm that Ukraine does not stand alone.
Four Years On — Unbroken
Today marks a somber milestone: four years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
We gather — as we have each year — not only to remember the lives lost and the families displaced, but to show the world that our spirit remains unbroken and the fight for freedom continues.

A Friend of Ukraine in Darwin
We were honoured to be joined once again by Luke Gosling OAM MP, Member of the Australian Parliament for Solomon — representing Darwin and Palmerston.
Luke is a 4th generation veteran who served 13 years in the Australian Army — in Parachute Infantry, Commandos and Defence Cooperation roles, with deployments to Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and beyond. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his humanitarian work and has since dedicated his parliamentary career to defence, veterans' affairs, and the communities he represents.
Luke has been a consistent friend of UAANT and a genuine supporter of Ukraine — showing up, speaking up, and standing alongside our community year after year. Since the 2025 election he serves as Special Envoy for Defence, Veterans' Affairs and Northern Australia in the Albanese Government — a role that reflects exactly the values he has always brought to our gatherings.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Australia
With over $1.7 billion in assistance provided to Ukraine, Australia has shown that Ukraine does not stand alone. That support covers military aid, humanitarian relief, and development assistance — a commitment the Australian Government has maintained and grown since February 2022.
For Ukrainians living in Darwin and across the Northern Territory, that commitment is not an abstract number. It is felt. It matters.
Thank you, Australia 🇦🇺🇺🇦
We Will Not Look Away
Four years is a long time to hold attention. Four years is a long time to keep showing up. And yet here we are — and here you are.
To everyone in Darwin and across the Territory who continues to stand with Ukraine: your solidarity is seen, it is felt, and it makes a difference.
Слава Україні! 🇺🇦
